What does Kinobody Sleep do?
This is our report on Kinobody Sleep. It’s a sleep aid from Kinobody which has claims to promote:
- Better Sleep
- Longer, Undisturbed Sleep
- Stimulant Removal
It’s a really interesting take on a sleep aid, and we were eager to give our report on it.
Here, we look at the ingredients, safety and how we think it could be better. This is our full evaluation.
How are the ingredients in Kinobody Sleep?
They’re interesting – in a good way! No supplement is perfect, but we think the research for Kinobody Sleep really shows.
The only drawback is that it doesn’t contain any melatonin to promote sleep. It’s more for creating a better mood and mindset. This can help to improve relaxation which can help you get to sleep much faster.
Here we look at each ingredient, explain the research and give our appraisal.
This is a great start to Kinobody Sleep. Magnesium is an effective mineral when it comes to general health, but also has specific benefits that apply to sleep.
The main way it helps you here is by how the mineral interacts with your nervous system. Magnesim can help to reduce neuromuscular impulses that can make jerks or twitches occur. It also helps to relax your muscles.
The benefit of all this is that it culminates in giving you a longer, undisturbed sleep over the night. It’s good for helping you sleep longer, without those nasty involuntary wake-ups in the middle of the night.
It’s all in the Glycinate form which helps with overall absorption.
This is another ingredient with some good studies behind it for sleep. Glycine is an amino acid which can help as a depressant to improve sleep.
There are several studies out there to show that it can help longer, better quality sleep. However, there’s only 2000mg in each serving.
The studies to show Glycine to work all deal in doses of 3000mg. That’s a third more than what’s in this supplement. It may have some effect, but it may not work to the same degree that you expect it to.
Also known as Melissa Officinalis, this is a herb which is regularly used as a tea. However, does it help in Kinobody Sleep?
Yes and no. From what we’ve seen in studies, it appears Lemon Balm does not directly promote sleep – however, it may give you a better mindset which can help you get to sleep.
Studies show that it can help improve calmness and relaxation while reducing anxiety. This can give you a much better state of mind which can help you to get to sleep faster and more effectively.
Again, this another ingredient which can help get you into a better mindset for sleep – but does not directly promote it.
L-Theanine is an amino acid which is found most commonly in herbs like Green Tea. The benefit of it in Kinobody Sleep is that it can help to improve relaxation, reduce anxiety and give you a better mindset to drift off to sleep.
At the moment there’s only one study of L-Theanine linking to sleep. It’s usually more researched as a cognitive enhancement aid. However, the study is positive and shows that L-Theanine can help with two daily doses of 200mg (400mg in total) throughout the day, it can help to improve sleep in subjects with ADHD.
This seems positive, but one thing we should note is that the L-Theanine in here is only at a dose of 300mg.
This is another ingredient which doesn’t directly improve sleep quality, but can give you more of that ‘sleep-ready’ mindset.
Ashwagandha is a herb in Kinobody Sleep which has been seen in numerous studies to work as an anti-stress aid. It’s a herb which can help to reduce your overall levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
Your cortisol levels rise given how stressed you are. The more stress, the more cortisol, and this can definitely affect your sleep.
By using a herb like Ashwagandha, you can help reduce your cortisol levels and give yourself a better hormonal balance for a relaxed mind and better sleep.
This isn’t a sleep promoter by any means, but there is a small amount of research which shows how it may help in Kinobody Sleep.
Evodia Rutaecarpine is thought to help to reduce the effects of caffeine. It binds to the stimulant and reduces its potency. This can help get caffeine out of your system and help you get to sleep much faster.
More research is needed, but at the moment, it’s looking like a promising addition to this supplement. However, the only thing that we would say is that the main study to show that it works looks at doses of 25mg to KG of body weight. This is a lot more than the 100mg in this supplement, unless you weigh 4kg.
Ingredient Profile Summary
When it comes to sleep supplements, we have to give it to Kinobody Sleep. There are some drawbacks, but there are some good options.
The Magnesium is a good option with plenty of studies behind it. The Glycine, L-Theanine and Evodia are good but they may be under-dosed. It’s better for giving you a better mindset for sleep, rather than being more direct with it.
It would be a lot better if these dosages were slightly higher, and that a few more ingredients were added. Tart Cherries and L-Tryptophan would help here as they both improve melatonin. Melatonin is your body’s natural sleep hormone. The more of this you have in your system, you’ll have better results at night.
Is Kinobody Sleep safe to consume?
It’s completely natural, and as far as we’re concerned we think it’s safe to use.
There’s nothing in here that we think can cause you problems. The only thing we would say is that you should check with your doctor before using is, and check that you don’t have any allergies to the ingredients in here.
How to take Kinobody Sleep
Take 1 scoop with 8 – 10 oz of warm water, 30 – 45 minutes before you go to bed.
If flavor means a lot to you in a supplement, it currently comes in both lemon and apple cinnamon editions.
Kinobody Sleep Summary
Overall, Kinobody Sleep is a good sleep supplement, but there are some improvements that could be made here.
There’s some good options in here, but we would like to see more when it comes to improving direct sleep. In our opinion, it’s also safe to use and shouldn’t cause side effects (although you should always seek medical advice).
It’s not so much about what needs changing in this supplement, but what else needs adding to it.
There are better options out there that would do the job better when it comes to the hormonal side, but this is still a good option.
